Simmering Potpourri is primarily a rose petal base but includes petals and flower heads from over a dozen different flowers. Lavender, Hydrangeas, Daisies, Cut-leafed cone flowers just to name a few. The unique thing about this blend is that once mixed with essential oil, it can be placed in a bowl and dried for a while, then mixed with water in your crockpot as a simmering potpourri.  We offer 15 different essential oil scents to choose from. A small bag of potpourri comes with 1 vial of essential oil, while the large bag includes 3 vials, mix or match scents.

Most of the botanicals in our potpourri mix are homegrown, harvested, dried & packaged from our gardens in Huron, Ohio. We grow roughly 45 hybrid rose bushes, offering 43 different varieties. We tend to several perennial & annual packed flower beds for harvesting petals & heads to be used in our potpourri, as well as harvesting the seeds to market in the spring.

Packaged in resealable bags that are 6" x 10" in size. (Equivalent to 3 small bags)

Botanicals May Include

Rose petals, rose hips & buds, rose of Sharon, black eyed Susans, daisies, cone flowers, cut-leaf cone flowers, marigold petals, pine cones, boxwood, dehydrated orange & apple slices, eucalyptus, bay leaves, pine needles, cranberries, burning bush leaves, birch tree leaves, lavender, zinnias, buckeyes, acorns, sorghum, sunflower petals, hydrangeas, mums, sweet Annie, Love in a Mist pods, mallow pods & woodland sage.

Directions for proper use

Simply mix one small bag of dry potpourri (please note: the large bags are equivalent to 3 small bags, so use 1/3 of the bag per use) into either a cooking pot or a simmering pot. Add about 3 cups of warm water and the vial of essential oil and gently stir together. I like to bring the mix to almost a boil, then back the heat off to medium-low and stir every once in a while. If you’re using the stove top, check & stir more often, and DO NOT allow the mixture to boil dry! Please note: once the potpourri breaks down it’ll take on a mushy form and not look so beautiful…however, it will smell even more amazing
as the oil infuses with the botanicals! I use the same bag everyday for up to a week! (Just be sure and add water as needed).
